For all those who’ve been commenting and email on the Erik Spiekermann video, I finally got around to uploading a new version to Virb today. The early stoppage problem is now fixed!

Typographica finally released their Favorite Fonts of 2006. It’s a beautiful list of some of the best typefaces released last year. I really love Guardian, PTL Skopex, Eudald News, and Odile.

Seravek is a beautiful new typeface by Eric Olson of the Process Type Foundry.

Seravek Type Specimen

Seravek is a linear sans serif designed for identity, editorial and information design. Five weights spanning Bold to Extra Light with italics and small caps allow for a range of applications both typographic and utilitarian in nature.

Eric Olson is also responsible for several other beautiful typefaces, including Bryant and Stratum. Thanks to Type For You for the link!

Robert Holmkvist is a Swedish graphic designer with a passion for great typography and minimalism.

Robert Holmkvist - Work Collage

That pretty much sums it up! His work is just beautiful.

Dstrukt’s new 2007 showreel is just amazing! I’ve always been a big fan of his work - and an even bigger fan of his showreels. Music by Hecq is always right on target. And the reels always have a very fresh and uniquely solid feel to them.

To learn more about Dstrukt, visit his website and be sure to check out his last showreel. If you’ve got some extra time, check out his collaborative work at Wyld Stallyons and Devoid of Yesterday.

I’m a huge fan of handwritten typography! There’s just something special and very natural that happens when good designers and typographers create type and words simply by drawing them with their hands.

So it’s always a pleasure to find work as good as Am I Collective’s hand- written typography.
